Flag Hoisting Ceremony Marks Indonesia's 78th Independence Day in Kathmandu

Kathmandu: A flag hoisting ceremony commemorating the 78th Independence Day of Indonesia took place in Kathmandu with solemnity and pride. The event was held at the office of the Honorary Consul within the IME Complex, Panipokhari, Kathmandu, and was accompanied by a special program on Thursday.

The Indonesian national flag was gracefully raised as a symbol of unity and freedom, underscoring the longstanding diplomatic ties between Indonesia and Nepal.

The Honorary Consul, Chandra Prasad Dhakal, expressed his heartfelt sentiments, emphasizing the significance of the Consul's office as a hub for fostering friendly relations.

"To strengthen the relations further and make them in the interest of both the countries, the Office of the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Indonesia in Kathmandu has been playing a significant role," Dhakal conveyed in a message shared on this momentous occasion.

Established in 1960, diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Nepal have flourished over the years, characterized by mutual respect and cooperation. The enduring amicability between these two nations has been a cornerstone of their diplomatic interactions.

Indonesia, a dynamic player in the ASEAN region, stands as a robust and burgeoning economy. The trade exchanges between Indonesia and Nepal have attained substantial significance, reflecting the shared commitment to economic partnership.

The ceremony drew the participation of the Indonesian community residing in Nepal, the dedicated staff of the Honorary Consul, and members of the esteemed IME Group. The collective presence underscored the unity and warmth that characterize the relationship between Indonesia and Nepal.

As the Indonesian flag soared high, the event symbolized not only a commemoration of independence but also a reflection of the enduring camaraderie shared between Indonesia and Nepal.
